From June 2021 to December 2022, we launched and ran the Covid-19 Relief Fund. When the pandemic struck, we recognised the devastating impact this was going to have on our community, and we wanted to help in this respect. Many charities were losing their revenue income with their services not being delivered face-to-face or important fundraising events not being held, as well as the number of service users increasing.
We were overwhelmed by the response and the diversity of the applications, many of the charities are run entirely by volunteers. They offer a valuable lifeline to so many in our community, including people who may have a learning disability, those who require a safe space to go for advice or friendship, and families who are struggling financially, not just at Christmas, but all year round.
